I cannot find an affordable Bronica flash so I was wondering if anyone has experince in using a third-party flash on the RF645? Okay, I have a different question but feel it belongs here as it concerns flash photography. Thanks van de wiel, looking at your latest pictures in the club, have you used the rf20 in those as you've done a nice job.
BRONICA RF645 REVIEW MANUAL
If I set to aperture mode I may end up using the flash slower than a 60th though and I really want to avoid movement so I guess manual mode would be best with flash. Originally posted at 2:49AM, 2 November 2010 PDT Are these different flash outputs on manual mode good to use for fill in flash, but then how could I judge which setting to actually put it on? Will the flash (still in auto) still fire the right amount of light? and will it tell me my distance range on the flash lcd? Could I for instance go as small as f16 or would this kill the distance of the flash? I'm guessing this depends on darkness of the scene and my film iso also.Īlso I'm a little confused as to the manual setting on the flash. To overcome this problem I'm assuming (and correct me if I'm wrong), I can go into manual mode on the camera body, and set my shutter speed to a 60th and my aperture to say f8. This is fine as on test film its seems to have transmitted the right amount of flash, however f4 is a problem because then obviously i have little depth and my focusing has to be perfect. I'm guessing the camera still tries to meter for the scene regardless of the flash, hence f4, but always sets your minimum sync shutter to a 60th. I'm guessing the flash has no control over the rf645 even in p mode (apart from setting the shutter speed to a 60th), I found this to be the case as when in a darker area in p mode and the rf20 attached the camera is always set to f4 at a 60th.

Im a bit clueless with the flash, due to the fact it doesnt have manual settings and distance scales on the back like my older flashes, just looking for some advice.
